“The Stuyvesants” is a collaborative effort between music producer Allan Cole (Algorythm), and record collector Darien Victor Birks (Flwrpt)…both being residents in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York. The idea stemmed from the two wanting to work together on a project where they could incorporate several of their talents and interests, related to music and design. However, they wanted to do this under an anonymous moniker, a moniker that would pay homage to the era in which the sound of this project reflects (60's and 70's). This collaboration also gave them the ability to do four major things, design (the two created the album cover, website, t-shirts, logos), beat dig (LPs, 45's), produce amazing music, and simply to have fun without the stress of clients, or money being involved. “The Stuyvesants” first album Brooklyn’s Finest, is just the beginning of a host of other ideas that they have in the works, so stay tuned.
